Located in the thriving Portland neighborhood of Deering Center, I knew going into this project that once the house was flipped and ready to go back on the market, there was a big chance that this home would attract first-time homebuyers. Not only would this neighborhood be perfect for a first-time homebuyer, but the size of the home is great for a young couple or family. The goal was to design this home to fit a younger demographic, with the inclusion of stylish features that reflects young and playful energy.

Once the home renovation was completed, we took it one step further and staged the home so that way interested buyers would be able to picture the home as their own, full of beautiful modern furniture.

In less than one year, this home transitioned from an outdated 70’s home into a sleek modern contemporary single family home that will make for a lovely abode for years to come! In less than four days, this adorable home was under contract!

Sixten • Photography Studio

Sixten is a photography studio located in the State Theater in Downtown Portland. Beautiful photos have been captured in this space, and I'm excited to have added a special touch of elements in this studio space! The goal of this project was to create an inviting entryway for anyone to walk in and feel welcomed, along with inspired to create beautiful art through the form of photography.

The studio artists’ intention for the studio is to build up the space with decor and art overtime, so Rubble Rhyme’s job was to get creative with a limited budget to create a high impact “welcome” moment! They also wanted to incorporate a table and chairs, to act as a place to meet with clients.

Brands and models can hire one of the photographers at Sixten to capture them or their products. The studio is overall a collaborative space that other photographers can also rent out for photoshoots or even utilize the dark room, all located right in the heart of Portland!

DECORATING & STYLING

A mudroom is the first impression of a home, which ideally implies “Welcome - stay a while!” 

And that is exactly what my clients were looking for in this space; a welcoming area for their home located in North Deering, with a bit more functionality for the whole family!

Being that the family of four is made up of the husband, wife and two kids; a girl and a boy, I imaged the space feeling both masculine and feminine. The tan walls stayed as is, which worked well with the color palette of black and grey, with accents of blue green and of course greenery!

Another goal was to create a space where the young kids could comfortably live in right now, as well as grow in. I kept this in mind when storing their items so they’d be able to independently grab their items as needed.
